About:
Pick & Build introduces the real-life application of reversible architecture (Reuse, Relocate, Repurpose), fully eliminating construction waste and lay-person-fitted self-building methods to construct versatile single-story-buildings allowing fast transformation in all geographical areas, including hard-to-reach places with unified statics.
Innovative ecosystem is based on crucial and needed lifestyle changes and responds to environmental concerns. On-demand construction elements in the form of high-performance composites, patented building system, and digital tools enable self-planning and self-building. Assembled construction elements form a high-quality building core for single-floor buildings. Each material is chosen according to its circular economy, reflected in the savings of natural resources and the product’s life cycle. It can cover various uses due to its neutral appearance on several levels, adapts to local regulations, preserves cultural heritage, and offers quick rehabilitation of disaster-affected areas with homes and needed infrastructure. An individual user can relocate, expand, modify, and remain flexible, and secure with a stable investment. The building components have manageable dimensions and low weight, facilitating transport on the world market and enabling manual handling. Assembly is possible without any expertise or assistance using simple tools and instructions.
Human-centred system with quick processing time (from planning, ordering, and finishing) allows our users to assemble building blocks and to self-design a tailor suited building core via AI-supported web configurator and an innovative stakeholder ecosystem.
Committed to sustainability, we use eco-friendly materials like secondary aluminum, graphite EPS, and purenit to promote healthier living, aligning with Goal 3. Our energy-efficient construction methods reduce the need for artificial temperature control, supporting Goal 7. PB also boosts local economies by promoting job creation and skill development, resonating with Goal 8. Embracing innovative construction techniques, we embody the essence of Goals 9 and 11, pushing the sector towards a sustainable future. Our approach emphasizes recyclable sourcing and waste management, reflecting Goal 12, while actively reducing our carbon footprint to support Goal 13. We prioritize minimal ecosystem impact, in line with Goal 15. Crucially, PB thrives on collaboration, seeking diverse partnerships to amplify our impact and promote shared knowledge, echoing Goal 17. Improving health and well-being by air quality and reducing emissions, ensuring affordable and clean energy by promoting energy efficiency and renewable sources. Creating employment opportunities and addressing socio-economic issues, building resilient infrastructure and fostering innovation and adapting to a changing climate. Responsible consumption and production through resource efficiency, recycling, and reuse, thus minimizing waste and raw material extraction, combating climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency measures. Responsibly sourced materials, conserving water, and enhancing biodiversity, contributing to sustainable land management. Partnering with organizations to revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development and promote its potential in achieving goals. PB is a pioneering construction initiative aligned with the UN’s SDGs.
What is the New European Bauhaus?
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, launched by the European Commission in 2020, connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces and experiences and expresses the EU’s ambition of creating beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive places, products and ways of living. It promotes new ways of living where sustainability matches style, thus accelerating the green transition in various sectors of our economy and in our societies as well as other areas of our daily life. The aim is to provide all citizens with access to goods that are circular and less carbon-intensive, that support the regeneration of nature and protect biodiversity. The NEB initiative calls on all of us to imagine and build together a sustainable and inclusive future that is beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls. The New European Bauhaus looks at projects, places, practices, and experiences that are:
- Beautiful: Aesthetically pleasing, but also inspired by art and culture, responding to needs and improving quality of experience beyond functionality.
- Sustainable, in harmony with nature, the environment, and our planet.
- Inclusive, encouraging a dialogue across cultures, disciplines, genders and ages.
Get ready for what’s next: Exciting updates on the horizon!
